I'm surprised we got him so soon after we got a Callum who looks as though he could be a Jem character, but I'm glad we did!
(For those of you who aren't W Club board members and missed this discussion, I found an illustration suggesting that the purple-haired Callum might be Integrity's take on the book-only character David Michael Springer - though it's probably just a coincidence.)

Interesting! I didn't know that about the purple haired Callum doll. If true, it wouldn't be the first time Integrity referenced a Jem character in a non-Jem line. That would be cool! bek, Craig is nice, too! You wouldn't be disappointed. |

He looks great! although I always wondered why they change colors on things. I think they should have stuck with white shoes! I feel like it just works better with the overall look.
Is there a picture of the David Michael Springer character? I've looked up the Callum doll and now I'm curious!

David Michael Springer was also from "Find Your Fate #1: Jewels in The Dark."
Oh, he kinda reminds me of Rio!!!
Looking at the purple-haired Callum doll, my thoughts are of IDW Rio. A picture of the doll with a yellow shirt and jeans reminds me of one of Rio's cartoon outfits!

David Michael Springer was also from "Find Your Fate #1: Jewels in The Dark." Yes, and both books were written by the same author. I don't know if the Integrity designers were familiar with either book, but even if they weren't, it's a nice acknowledgement of a somewhat obscure bit of Jem lore! |

Thanks for posting that pic, cindy2k4. I had looked around and couldn't find a pic of him anywhere.
I could see the Callum doll being a subtle homage to him. Heck, if you want to pretend it's a modern interpretation of him, then that's one more character added to the Jem cast. Now I'm tempted to pick up that Callum! lol
