It's obvious. She's JEM ('o') and one looks like Regine with Aja's makeup... Kimber's keytar? Somebody LOOKS LIKE KIMBER ALREADY?? Do you notice any other differences? My main conclusion is that because this Jem movie is coming out (I have already seen teen magazine pages with Jem), it is OK to revive that Jem style. I do like the style, but honestly Barbie is pretty much copying Jem. Attachments:

That's the impression I had of it too, not to mention that it's basically a remake of The Princess and the Popstar from a few years back.
Of course it wouldn't be the first time!

I saw this at Target the other day and was thinking the same thing. Also seems like another attempt at Barbie and the Rockers.
Actually, thinking more about it, I'm really surprised Mattel can get away with this. It is even more of a rip-off of Jem than the original Barbie and the Rockers. At least in the original one Barbie still had her signature blonde hair. This is pretty blatant!
One more thought: I wonder if Hasbro, or anyone in general, can trademark or claim ownership of the concept of a fashion doll rock band. Or even one that has a pink haired lead singer as the focus. Same for the other band members, since this mirrors the Holograms so much. Seems pretty specific to me.
