I'm kinda excited for this, should be fun! I've never heard of the any of the bands/ musicians though. I do kinda wish they would have just released a soundtrack to the original show, or at least got the original singers to do the updated songs.

Ahead of the October release of the Jem and the Holograms film based on the 80’s cult classic, Hasbro Studios and Sony Music/Legacy Recordings have teamed up to release a tribute album featuring new renditions of the classic Jem cuts.
Truly Outrageous: A Tribute to Starlight Records will be released this Friday (Aug. 7), Billboard can exclusively confirm. The album will feature 12 newly recorded takes on songs like “Glitter & Gold,” “Beat This” and “Truly Outrageous,” from artists like Ben Thornewill, Chrissie Poland and LACES.

“We really want this album to be a trip down memory lane for longtime fans to fall in love with Jem all over again,” says Stephen Davis, CCO of Hasbro Inc. “Music has always been at the core of the Jem series and there couldn’t be a better way to bring Jem back to the forefront of pop culture than to develop a tribute album with today’s contemporary emerging artists.”
The Jem tribute album will be available for pre-order tomorrow, and the Jem and the Holograms film starring Molly Ringwald and Juliette Lewis is due out Oct. 23. Check out the album’s list of songs below:
BEAN ("Truly Outrageous")
Chrissie Poland ("LoveSick")

Madi Diaz ("Like a Dream")
