Activity has halted here for so long. Let's keep discussions going again!
What do you all want next for Jem? Or do you think it should remain just a thing of the past that you still love today?
I struggle with what I'd like them to do next with Jem. Part of me wishes the franchise would make a successful comeback, but another part of me is satisfied with the original toon and toyline as well as the Integrity line.
The only thing they haven't done that I still wish they would do would be G.I.Joe sized Jem figures. I would not expect a full retail line, but maybe make 3 or so box sets of them just to get them made. Perhaps one set could be Jem (toon colors) and the Holograms, one set could be the Misfits with Eric, and the last set could be Jerrica and Rio with the Rockin' Roadster. Or if the Rockin' Roadster is too much, maybe a set with Jerrica, Rio, Synergy, and a variant of Jem (original doll colors) would make more sense/be more practical.
The packaging for each set could literally be the same size and shape as the vintage doll boxes to really play up the nostalgia. Four small figures could easily fit in one of those. Maybe even use the original Sharon Knettle artwork. To further play up the nostalgia each set could include a card shaped like a cassette with a download code on the side not visible in the package. The code on each set would grant an MP3 download of maybe 3 songs each from the band in the set. So 6 Jem and the Holograms songs and 3 Misfits songs total.
I think the price point for each could be in the $50 range, they could release each set as a SDCC, NYCC, and a Toy Fair debut exclusive available on Hasbro Toy Shop, and they'd be done. A full line with variants as well as the Stingers, Techrat, Zipper, etc would be cool, but I think these 3 proposed sets would cover everything essential, and would not be a major commitment for them. What do you all think?
What are your thoughts and wants for the future of Jem?
