Hi Bek!

Thanks for connecting with me and I hope this finds you well.  I was born in 1991 so I completely missed the original Jem craze in the 1980's; however my older sister would have been about 3-4 years old by the end of it.  I had been doing additional research into Jem in late 2014 thanks to a Honda advert on TV, but the interest just wasn't there yet for me.  Jem again was mentioned to me by a worker at a doctor's office about a parody which I won't bother to mention here due to its overly suggestive nature (still haven't watched it), and fast-forward to early-November of this year when by some means I will never understand my fiancee (who is younger than me by about 3 years) directs me to watch "Jem and the Holograms" after a bad night of dealing with flashbacks to previous trauma (won't get into the details because it's too graphic for discussion in the open).  I flip on this show via NetFlix and am immediately taken to a place of enjoyment and carefree that only a few other things have taken me to considering my history of trauma and abuse.

Because I self-identify as a "hologram" (what synergy projects rather than a member of the band (I have zero musical talent unless you count my various lyrical remixes of songs)) this show strikes a chord with me and has become one of my favorite things to turn to when I need an escape from it all.  November is one of the harder months for me, so to have been watching this show during the hardest part of that month has truly kept me from having a mental breakdown :-).

After reviewing it all, I identify more closely as something more like synergy than an actual human considering that all I have been through has led me to create multiple specialized "holograms" to take on the things I cannot bare to take on myself.  The latest of which are named Synergy and Jem. 

I know, it's a long and complicated story of how one show I didn't grow up with has led me to be able to get through things that no one should have to go through.  Should you need further information, feel free to PM me and I can send you more informational links detailing my life and some of the more traumatic things I've been through.
