Instead of just doing a talkback for each issue, I am just going to do one thread for the whole series, which from now on I will do for the main series starting with the next issue.
Issue 1
Great debut, I thought the art was great. Eric in this issue is going to get some getting used to, he looks much older than in the main series.
And this is the Pizazz I have always to see, a Tsunede or however you spell that, I love it, it is so adorable. Pizazz has a teenager, she of kind a nerd.
The whole backstory of the Misfits, after her parents divorce Pizazz dreams of being a rock star, and one by one recruit the Misfits. Also one thing that differs from the cartoon, in the cartoon Stormer was the only one that cared the music and the art, Pizazz just did has a hobby because she was bored, the others for money. Here Pizazz does take the music seriously, and I don't know what to make of Roxy and Jetta's relationship, are they just BFFs or something more, Roxy had the hearts in her eyes. I don't judge. I don't know if we had to have the Blaze backstory all over again, we know already, I guess they might some readers that haven't read the main series. Clash is their assistant, I am glad Clash has a job here, and not like in the cartoon when she was some un employed slacker.
Also I assume the beginning of this series does take place right after the current Stinger arc in the main series. So some possible spoilers, like Pizazz equally blames the Holograms and the Stingers, while we are at now to me it looks she is more mad at the Holograms and the Stingers are an after thought, also looks like no Pizazz crushing on Riot, I am so happy that is not going to happen. And Pizazz something about Kimber Benton of all people goating her, so I assume something is going to happen between Pizazz and Kimber in the next 2 issues.
The comic book versions of the Misfits were always very likable, but in this series now that they are the stars, dare I say they are lovable. Hard not to love them, this is a far outcry from the cartoon. Though in the cartoon there was likable cool characters trying to get out, but that is another story.
This is the Misfits I always wanted, and I feel we deserve. 10 / 10.
